Cheap & Easy Snack Recipe

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt or to taste
  • ½ tsp white pepper or to taste
  • ¼ tsp mixed herbs or parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup carrot
  • 2 tbps spring onion
  • 1 – 2 green chili
  • milk as required
  • oil for frying


  • Sieve all-purpose flour (maida) into a mixing bowl and season with salt.
  • Combine egg, season with white pepper, and mixed herbs or parsley. Mix them well by hand.
  • Next, add coriander leaves, grated carrot, spring onion (green part), green chilies, and add milk as required. Mix again with your hand. Add a little bit of oil in between.
  • Continue to add milk and grind to make the dough. Grease it with a little bit of oil. Cover it and let it rest for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Now, knead again. You can add some flour if the dough becomes too soft or sticky.
  • Dust the rolling pad with some flour. Roll down the dough into a round and thick sheet. Then cut through the edges of the sheet to make snack slices.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry on low to medium flame until golden brown and crisp.
  • Serve with tomato ketchup or any of your favorite sauces.
