Crispy Potato Fritters

  • 2 Potatoes medium sized
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chili crushed
  • tsp coriander seeds crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp green chilies crushed
  • 2 – 3 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 cup gram flour (بیسن کا آٹا)
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 1 pinch orange food color
  • water as required
  • oil for frying


  • Prepare by arranging the required ingredients for the recipe.
  • Peel off the potato and slice the potatoes lengthwise to your desired thickness. Stack the slices together on the cutting board or a flat surface and cut lengthwise to make thin sticks.
  • Clean the slices with water and take them to a large mixing bowl. Add the seasonings of salt to taste, crushed red chili, crushed coriander, and cumin seeds.
  • Add green chilies nicely crushed and finely cut fresh coriander leaves. Use a spoon or other small kitchen tool to combine the added ingredients.
  • Now add the gram flour as per recommended quantity or you may increase the quantity as required.
  • Add a pinch of baking soda and one of orange food color. Add water and mix gradually to prepare a thick mixture ready to fry.
  • Deep fry on low to medium flame in a cooking wok until golden brown and crispy as desired.
  • Serve with your favorite sauce.
