- ⅓ cup oil for cooking
- 1 cup water
- 2 potatoes (medium sized) cut into about i inch cubes
- 3 onions (medium sized) cut into slices

- 2-3 tbsp tamarind pulp
- ½ tsp crushed cumin seeds and black pepper
- 1 tsp dried mint leaves
