- 7-8 glasses water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp kewra essence
- ½ tsp orange food color (zarday ka rang)
- ½ kg soaked cella rice (bheegay huay cella chawal)
- ½ cup clarified butter (desi ghee)
- 4-5 green cardamom (choti elaichi)
- 1 bowl sugar or to taste
- candied fruit (ashrafiyan) to taste
- almond, pistachio and raisins to taste
- whole milk (pheeka khoya) as desired
