Famous Channa Chaat with 3 Chatneys

Channa Chaat is a must have item of Iftar menu. Here is Karachi’s famous Channa Chaat blended with 3 chatneys i.e. Khatee, Mithee and Green Chatnies.

Meethi Chutney

Ingredients

  • ½ cup tamarind pulp (imli ka garha ras)
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp crushed cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp crushed coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp Paprika Powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black salt

Instructions

  • Add tamarind pulp, water and other ingredients in pan and bring to cook.
  • Cook till you get desired thickness and turn off the flame.

Green Chatney

Cuisine Indian, Pakistani

Ingredients

  • ½ bunch fresh mint leaves (½ gadhi taza podinay k pattary)
  • 4 – 5 green chilies
  • 7 – 8 cloves garlic (lahsan k javay)
  • 1 bunch fresh coriander leaves (taza dhanya)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black salt
  • ½ lemon juice
  • water little bit (thora sa)

Khatee Chutney

Ingredients

  • ½ cup tamarind pulp (imli ka garha ras)
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala

Instructions

  • Add tamarind pulp, black salt, red chili and chaat masala as per the recommended quantity in blender and blend them together.
  • Khatee chutney is ready take it out in a chutney bowl.

Chana Chaat Recipe

Ingredients

  • pakory as required
  • yogurt as required
  • 3 cups boiled chicken peas or as required
  • 1-2 boiled potatoes cut in 1 inch cubes
  • sour (khatee) chatney
  • green (hari) chatney
  • sweet (meethi) chateny
  • papri
  • sliced onion

garnish with

  • chaat masala
  • fresh coriander leaves
